Atlanta Sonson-Chapman

Born and raised in Hackney, East London, Atlanta is a neurodivergent, mixed Caribbean woman who is an active member of the LGBTQ+ community. With an artist's perspective that some find challenging to grasp, she is currently based in Hackney. Her career objective is to create opportunities and pathways for young individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter the arts industry, mirroring her journey.

 

Atlanta's artistic journey commenced at the young age of 14 when she began performing spoken word. Throughout her upbringing, she engaged in various art-related activities and dedicated her time to volunteering for an arts charity to support young people.

 

Atlanta holds a degree in Theatre Design from Middlesex University and completed her performance studies at Leyton Sixth Form. Her theatre background includes external performances outside of her academic studies and contributing to the set design of a musical during her time in sixth form, which served as a launching pad for her career in production arts.

 

Identifying as a Multidisciplinary artist in Design and performance, Atlanta's talents span a wide range of roles, including Stage manager, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, and Set Designer, all while maintaining her proficiency as an actress.
